Squire Taylor’s Suite at Taylor House Inn, our Blue Ridge Mountains bed and breakfast, is on the first floor on the western side of the house, tucked away in the rhododendrons overlooking the gazebo and herb garden.

An elegant king-size, pencil-post bed is paired with a slatted walnut daybed, each with a down comforter and colorful quilts. The large bathroom has an original claw-foot tub with shower. This North Carolina getaway suite has its own private sitting area with gas chimney and Satellite TV.

I spent two nights in January with my son, and we skied at nearby Appalachian Mountain. We made our reservations at the last minute and this was the only room we could find. What a treasure. Tessa and Bernard have a gem of a property. Tessa prepares a 3 course gourmet breakfast that is one the best I have had anywhere. It is served in a beautiful dinning room on on china. The breakfast alone is worth the trip. The room we stayed in overlooked the front of the property and was very spacious, comfortable, and clean. Bernard waited up for us we arrived very late. He was very gracious and welcoming. I can wait to go back with my wife. This property is perfect for a romantic weekend in the mountains, or family gatherings. Boone NC is only a few miles away so the property is very convenient to many attractions and areas of interest.

Upon arrival at Taylor House, it was evident that the innkeepers cared about their guests. A quiet retreat to celebrate our 33rd anniversary with no TV or telephones, how wonderful. Bountiful breakfasts were served with flair. The inn is located in a quiet valley with incomparable mountain scenery. A perfect place to get away as a couple.
